Overview
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School is committed to providing
an affordable, quality education in a Catholic, Christian atmosphere
within the framework of the teaching of Jesus and His Church. It is
through this commitment to Catholic education that members of the
school community work together for the betterment of the present and
future student.
With a commitment towards ongoing advancement, the school
invites you to join us in spirit as you journey with us in
accomplishments, challenges, learning expectations, and all
the components—large or small—that make Our Lady of Perpetual Help
School what it is today. It is what a Catholic school is all about:
evangelization, hope for the future, love for others, and faith in

History

Our
school and church began as a small mission run by Franciscan
priests under the auspices of the Diocese of San Diego. Now
into the 21st century and under the Diocese
of San Bernardino, we have grown to our present size of
3,300 registered families and approximately 250 students.

Worship
Philosophy
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School is committed to high-quality
education in a Catholic, Christian setting. Our school’s
worship philosophy aptly
reflects this commitment and we invite you to read it.

Hours of Operation and Extended-Care Programs
Office
Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday when school is
in session; 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9:00
a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fridays during summer break.
Grade School Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Parents, please plan to have students on campus by 7:45 a.m.
The school is closed for the following holidays:
Labor Day: September 1, 2008
Thanksgiving: November 27-28, 2008
Christmas Break: December 22, 2008 to January 2, 2009
Martin
Luther King Day: January 19, 2009
President’s Day: February 16, 2009
Easter Break: April 10-17, 2009
Independence Day: July 4, 2009
In addition to
its K-8 program, OLPH School operates a
preschool, a morning-care program, and an after-school program.
Interested parents should contact the school office to arrange for
these additional services.

Before and After-School Program
Extended Care is an after-school, care program for enrolled
students. This service is provided for a fee and offered from 3:00
to 5:30 p.m. on regular school days and from 12:00 to 5:30 p.m. on
minimum school days. Students will be released from Extended Care
only when an authorized person named on their Emergency Card is
present and signs them out.
Parents should note that after 3:00 p.m. dismissal, or 12:00 p.m.
dismissal on minimum days, students who have not been picked-up
within 15 minutes, will be required to check in to the Extended Care
room and parents will be billed for the amount of time spent there.
For those that need it, OLPH School also offers Morning
Care for a slight fee to enrolled students. This service is provided
through the efforts of volunteer parents and is available from 7:00
a.m. to 7:40 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Preschool Program
The OLPH preschool hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through
Friday. The program is run September through early June with a
summer school program in June, July, and August. Additional details

Parents' Club
The
Parents’ Club is an organization consisting of all parents and/or
guardians whose children are enrolled in Our Lady of Perpetual Help
School. The group has three main functions:

Plan and
organize fundraising events to financially support the school
-
Provide an
avenue of communication between parents, administration, and the
school board
-
Support the
rules, regulations, and operation of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
School
Parents' Club meetings are held four times per year and it
is mandatory that at least one parent from each family attend each
time. At the first meeting, the principal will review school
policies, programs, procedures, and introduce any new items for the
year for new and returning members. Additional details are in the
Parent/Student Handbook.

School Board
The purpose of the OLPH school board is to provide an appropriate
representative body for identifying and articulating the educational
needs and aspirations of the school community. The board’s primary
responsibility is to define the policies that govern the operation
of the school. All other duties are subsidiary functions of the
board.
The OLPH school board is composed of:

Six elected
or appointed members who serve a three-year term,

The president
of the Parents’ Club

The OLPH
School principal (ex-officio member)

The OLPH
pastor (ex-officio member)
To be a school
board member is to bring forth one’s talents, skills, wisdom,
experience, faith life, and good will for the sake of the school’s
mission. Individual board members work within one or more of the
following areas:

Xavier College Preparatory High School
Xavier College Preparatory High School is located in Palm Desert,
CA. The newly constructed school opened its doors in 2006 and offers
a Catholic education to high school students. The school is
currently accepting 9th and 10th grade enrollments for
the 2007-2008 school year and will graduate their first senior class
